01 · The mineral

Magnesium on its own is a little blunt.

Cheap forms like oxide are poorly absorbed and are known for upsetting the stomach.

Blood orange

Natural extract from Sicilian blood oranges. Bright, bitter at the edge, never sweet.

Yuzu and ginger

Yuzu peel oil with a warm root-ginger extract. Sharper than orange, warmer on the finish.

Blackcurrant

Concentrated blackcurrant with a trace of lavender flower. Dark, soft, like a good cordial.

Montmorency cherry powder for a dry, deep flavour. In NOX for taste; we make no sleep claim.

Lab notes

What we claim, and what we don't.

Every sentence on our cartons is one the EU allows. Where the science is still early, we say so here instead of on the box.

This is one of the health claims the European Commission authorises for magnesium, for products that provide at least 15% of the reference intake per serving. Both sticks clear that bar.

Also authorised. It's why we split it across the day: the body doesn't store magnesium for long, and a steady intake beats one big dose.

The AM stick carries 200 mg, about 10% of the reference intake. Most of your potassium should still come from food, and bananas are cheaper than we are.

80 mg is 100% of the reference intake. Yuzu Ginger swaps it for 5 mg of zinc, which carries its own authorised claims.

Small human studies are encouraging, but there is no authorised claim, so we don't make one. We include 1 g because it is gentle and it carries the magnesium.

Tart cherry is in NOX for its flavour. The research on it is early and mixed, and we would rather tell you that than print it on the box.
