Their routine
Two sticks, placed around a working day that isn’t nine to five.
Tomás works four nights on, four off, in an orthopaedic theatre. His morning starts at seven in the evening, and his evening at nine the next morning.
He takes the AM stick at 19:40, before the handover, and the NOX stick after the drive home, with the blinds down. The names on the box stopped mattering in the first week, he says. What matters is the order.
On days off he flips back to a normal clock, and the two boxes flip with him. He keeps both in his locker, and a spare pair in the car.
